Donate to Video Project

Video Project helps educators and communities harness the power of documentary film to empower and inspire action around critical social and environmental justice issues. Through thoughtful curation and impact-oriented distribution, our programs deliver valuable educational resources that create lasting impressions on future generations, encouraging them to become responsible and compassionate citizens.

Why should you support us?

In this media landscape, where a handful of conglomerates profit from click-bait style reporting, our society is losing its ability to absorb, reflect, and act on the stories that are most vital to our future. Our mission at Video Project is to fill this gap by sharing stories about the critical issues of our time, including labor rights, the environment, education, immigration, diversity and inclusion, mindfulness, civil rights, public health, mass incarceration, and much more.

What will your tax deductible contribution be used for?

  • Impact funding for individual film outreach campaigns to provide free screenings and resources to underserved schools and communities who need it most.
  • Continuing support of documentary filmmakers whose essential work helps us to better understand our evolving culture, and also support and represent marginalized communities.
  • Development funding to support the continued growth of Video Project.

Some of our recent accomplishments:

  • Since 2014 we’ve distributed over 100 documentaries to Colleges, Universities Community Groups etc. across North America.
  • In 2018/2019, our STRAWS film impact campaign provided free screenings, speakers and lesson plans for over 11,000 students in 50+ schools in Los Angeles and Dallas. CASE STUDY. Additionally, the film was used by states and local governments for advocacy campaigns to ban single use plastics.
  • In 2019 we provided over 30 free screenings for Universities and K-12 schools of Living In The Future’s Past. In this environmental documentary, Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges shares the screen with scientists, profound thinkers and a dazzling array of Earth's living creatures to reveal eye-opening concepts about ourselves and our past, providing fresh insights into our subconscious motivations and their unintended consequences.
