As a social cause media company, we encourage screenings of our films to educate, inspire and activate people on the critical issues of our time, as well as to raise money for a cause or organization.
We charge screening fees in order to license the necessary rights needed for public screenings, and to sustain both the filmmakers who create the films and our own company so we may continue to provide high-quality films.
PUBLIC PERFORMANCE LICENSE
Purchasing a license for a community screening provides you the required public performance rights to show a film in a public setting. This is a limited license as specified below, and also does not permit the film to be loaned, sold, duplicated, streamed or broadcast without our written permission.
SINGLE SCREENING LICENSE
Single screening licenses provide for one public screening of the film in a venue of your choice. The DVD must be returned after the screening at your expense to: The Video Project, 145 - 9th St., Suite 102, San Francisco, CA 94102. Please include your organization name with the return so we can accurately track that the film was returned.
If you would like to hold multiple screenings of a film, including showing it in more than one venue or to various groups, please contact us to secure the rights for an additional license fee.
The numbers shown on the order form are for your screening venue seating capacity — the maximum audience — not your expected audience.
CHARGING FOR ADMISSION
You may charge a ticket price of your choosing for people to attend the screening.
FUNDRAISING AT YOUR SCREENING
We encourage you to ask for donations at your screening to support your organization’s work or a related cause.
When you book your screenings, we will send you digital publicity resources that you can use to promote it! This ‘PR packet’ includes a press kit, a local media announcement template, poster graphics, stills from the film and speaker stills.
