The Yanomami are considered the last intact indigenous
culture in the Americas, a tribe little changed over thousands
of years. But their way of life and their very existence are threatened
by gold mining, development, and disease.
Keepers of the Flame documents an expedition by a group
of journalists, anthropologists, and doctors who journeyed to
the Venezuelan rainforest to visit with the Ashetoeateri Village,
a Yanomami settlement never contacted by the outside world.
